Made To Order Displays
Made to order display cases are pre-designed units for which construction of the product starts once a purchase order has been made. This approach does away with the need for storage of bulky units and the necessity to carry large amounts of back stock which would add further cost to the finished item. Construction starts 2-3 business days after the merchandise is purchased. Materials, color laminates, color stains and hardware need to be cut and compiled prior to the build. The actual construction can take 3-4 weeks as the build of a made to order item is a labored process. Once the display is complete and all of the glass and colors have been completely stabilized and set, a crate is assembled by hand around the product for transport. Transport adds 5-7 day in addition to the production time frame.
Custom Displays
Custom displays are also made to order displays that are either a novel design or have been altered in measurements or require special materials requested by the buyer. A custom display is also a product that is designed by the purchaser and presented to the manufacturer to build from their blue prints. Custom displays can take 6-8 weeks to produce as cost, materials and final design proofs need to be completed and approved by both parties – this process alone can take weeks to accomplish. With custom displays, a non refundable deposit is due at the start of the project. Crating and transport can take up to 10 days upon completion of the project, depending on the size and quantity of the items.
