BJ’s Wholesale Club is a large warehouse-style shopping center. They focus on supplying the East Coast of the US with great deals and access to products. With over 200 stores in 17 states, they have over 6 million members already. Because of the rise in mobile shopping app use, BJ’s has rolled out version 7 of its app on February 3, 2021.
The Features
Users can log into the app with a club membership account to see what options they have available. From there, they can access all the information and details on-the-go. Members can view their rewards, order history, track challenges, or scan their cards anywhere. BJ’s club app offers an express pay option, which means the members don’t need to wait in line. Instead, they scan barcodes as they shop. This is available in select clubs only.
Shoppers can put an order together online and choose to schedule free curbside or in-club pickup. They can view products they’ve recently purchased and reload them to the cart. There are even more options available for the mobile app to use or take advantage of for members.
For Consumers
What this means for the average consumer is there has been a major revamp and update. BJ’s changed the layout of the initial home screen to show a better snapshot of your account. The company updated the ability to clip coupons. Searching by categories is now an option too.
The Hiccups
Several user reviews made a note of a few issues after the most recent update, though. One had the app close in the middle of creating a shopping order. Another made note that the coupons already clipped disappeared despite being logged in.
Many other reviews are 5 stars with informative and positive statements. The coupon-clipping feature is by far the best version so far, according to several users’ reviews. Currently, the BJ’s Wholesale Club app has a 4.6-star rating on Google Play and 4.8-star on the Apple App Store.
The Results
There have been two other updates in February since then. Those updates focused on developing the consumer experience involved with the app. There were minor bug fixes to enhance the shopping experience in the apps.
As far as store memberships go, the staff continues to make it a functional shopping app. They post when needed on reviews and keep the updates coming with new features and bug fixes. It is unclear how much more they can add to the current shopping app.
