White glove delivery is the ultimate delivery service add-on. This service is not included in the standard zip code to zip code base transport fee. White-glove service can add an additional $500 – $1,000 (and occasionally more) to the delivery cost depending on the type of service needed and the quantity of items involved. White glove delivery services are frequently requested for heavy, or difficult to manage items that require delicate handling such as glass display cases and items of furniture etc. White glove delivery may require more than one person to bring the items into your location, uncrate the merchandise, dispose of the crates/packaging, and to maneuver the items into position.
We recognize that for many businesses the additional fees involved for white glove service are a cause for concern and so offer the following tips to make this an avoidable extra cost.
Make sure there is someone at your location at the time of delivery who can bring the displays into your location and uncrate them for you.
Consider hiring a local moving company to be on-hand at the time of delivery of your merchandise to bring the displays inside your location, uncrate the displays, dispose of the debris and place the displays in the desired position. (If you shop around, you should be able to find someone at around $90 per hour which represents a substantial saving on white glove service!)
You will need to coordinate delivery times directly with the freight company and make arrangements with the moving company. Freight companies charge extra if you need to have your merchandise delivered at a specific time, you can call in the morning on the day of the delivery and get an approximate time frame and narrow that time frame down once the driver has left the actual freight terminal.
